Stevie is the most amazing composer/performer to come out of Motown. He took control of his career at the age of 21 and hammered out a deal with Motown that allowed him complete creative freedom. He infused his brand of soul/R&B with just about every genre of music….jazz, salsa and rock and roll. “Don’t You Worry Bout A Thing” had an authentic latin feel to it and a positive message to accept the situations that life puts you in. The spanish phrase ‘Todo ‘stá bien chévere’ , translates to “Everything’s really cool.” Released in March of 1974, it peaked at #16 pop and #2 R&B.
